Now, remember this is all about making an impression on a stranger. Down the road, once you’ve established a relationship, I’m sure it will be just fine to send your sweetheart a picture of you with Whiskers.
Once she knows you’re plenty masculine and very date-able…
But first, you want those single ladies to swipe RIGHT.
So (for now) hide your cat…
But…the same does not hold true for a dog. Dog owners were found to be more “masculine and friendly,” and in a different study, men with a dog were more likely to get a woman’s phone number than a guy who didn’t have a pup.
Fido can stay in the picture.
2) Use Your Lifeline: Phone a Friend
Newsflash: you’re not actually the best person to be picking your profile photo at all.
But how can that be?
You are the person most obsessed, and familiar, with your face and physique, most aware of the important details to hide and highlight.
However, there are a few reasons you may not be the best person to choose your profile picture.
The main reason is that we see our own faces differently than we see strangers’ faces. We already see our own faces as more trustworthy and welcoming, because they are so familiar.
Because of that, you may not notice what it is about a photo that is not very flattering…but a stranger will.
So get a friend to help you pick pictures. Better yet, get a friend to get one of THEIR friends (someone who doesn’t know you) to pick your pictures.
If you disagree with the choice, it’s probably a good sign…
And here’s something to keep in mind when you’re deciding which pictures they will choose from:
3) You Gotta Stand Out
Women on dating apps are swiping.
Quickly. And almost exclusively left.
How do you stop them in their tracks, get them to take some more time on your profile, and ultimately swipe right?
You need to stand out.
You can’t look like every other guy on there. A simple selfie just might not be enough.
Try to find (or take) a picture in an unusual place or of you doing something interesting.
I was once stopped dead in my tracks by a picture of a guy standing on top of 5 precariously stacked chairs. I was instantly impressed and I had to ask him how he did that. I also knew just from that photo that he had a sense of humor and a sense of adventure…
Not every woman is the same, so make sure you’re attracting the right woman for you. If you are quiet and serious and hate adventures, don’t pull this stunt or some girl will soon be dragging you through a cave on some crazy mission to find trilobites or something.
If you can find a way to compose a picture that makes her curious to know more, that’s a huge accomplishment.
And if the picture leaves an unanswered question, like “how did he get up there,” she is more likely to start a conversation with you.
4) So Long, Gym Selfie
I know. You love your muscles. I do, too.
But here’s the thing: mirror selfies look extremely self-absorbed.
It’s fine to take pride in yourself, but coming off as self-absorbed isn’t a turn on.
What works way better than an overt mirror selfie is a candid picture of you taken by someone else in which you are using your muscles for something functional. Moving furniture, building a shed, something like that…
Ask a friend to hang out with you while you do muscle-y things and let him (or her–a girl might take a better photo to appeal to other women) know you’d like a natural photo. It will look so much sexier to the women who are scrolling…
5) You Do You
Simply showcase who you are.
Don’t worry about looking perfect. Women can already tell if they are attracted to you.
Make sure your photos are clear, so she can see your face and body. Show yourself in a variety of settings, with at least one candid photo.
NOW… find out how to not only get her to swipe right but to also come over quickly for some in-person intimacy…
