So with that in mind, I’m going to show you the top 10 sex & dating trends of 2017–and how you can use them to your best advantage in the coming year.
1) It Pays Off to Be the “Nice Guy”
It’s true:
That old adage, “nice guys finish last”… is now B.S.
In fact, the data showed that men who include the following words in their online dating profile get up to 66% more messages:
- “Thoughtful”…
- “Listener”…
- “Polite”…
- “Giving”…
- “Community”…
- “Give back”…
- And “friendly.”
How about that?
So if you feel as though you can relate to any of those words, then definitely include them in your online dating profile to get more dates.
2) Open-Minded Men Get More Dates
Do you feel the need to “filter” women as you scroll through them online?
If so, then you may want to reconsider.
According to the data, men who “filter” women online send more messages–and get fewer replies.
So maybe it’s a good time to have a “clean slate” and keep an open mind about the kind of women you’re willing to date.
3) Play Up Your Age (If You’re Older)
Yup–being older is a good thing in 2017.
And that’s because women these days are 10% more likely to message a guy who’s 10 years older than they were just a year ago.
So if you use online dating, don’t lie about your age!
In fact, you may even want to emphasize that you’re “more experienced.” 😉
4) Higher Education = Higher Odds She’s Interested
This one may not come as much of a surprise:
Women dig a guy with some brains to back up the brawn.

5) Food, Food, Food

Perhaps you’re more of a nacho guy–whatever the case, it’s a good idea to mention your food-related interests to a woman when you first meet her.

Well, the researchers discovered that men who mention “guacamole” in their online dating profiles received up to 144% more messages online!
So especially if you like guacamole, it’s good to get that out of the way early on.
Pro Tip: Take her out to a Mexican place on your first date for an extra dose of guac.
6) It’s OK to Be Who You Are
While we’re on the topic of food–let’s talk about vegans and vegetarians.
It’s no secret that these diets are becoming increasingly popular. And apparently, they’re quite attractive as well.
Because while vegetarians and vegans used to get fewer messages online… these days, people who practice these diets get more messages!
You don’t have to be vegan or vegetarian to reap the rewards of this trend either.
Instead, simply mention that you’re “open to dating a vegan or vegetarian,” and you’re all set.
7) Skip The Dinner Date (And Do THIS Instead)
Many men still think that dinner is the best meal to take a woman on a first date…
However, in 2017, this is no longer the case.
So what should you do instead?
Lunch!
In fact, when you mention “lunch” in a message instead of “dinner,” the data show that you’ll get 25% more responses.

These sexologists set out to find the answer… and you may be pleasantly surprised to hear the results:
Men who have a certain kind of “confidence” get WAY more dates than men who are simply “attractive.”
Apparently, this is because confident men naturally use the right kind of body language to escalate with women… such as this type of eye contact… or this particular handshake…
..whereas conventionally “attractive” guys tend to rely on their looks to get dates.
As a woman, when I read this, a little lightbulb went off in my head… because out of the last 5 guys I’ve dated… only ONE of them was really “good-looking.”
The other 4 were “average” in just about every way…. though they had this “instant confidence” that somehow made it impossible for me to resist them…
…and now that I think about it, yeah, they did a lot of these things the sexologists described… the kind of body language that gives you almost “instant confidence.”
